Casper the Halloween sweater is a fun raglan sweater. It is the perfect autumn or Halloween jumper for any boy or girl.
The pattern features ages 0-3 months all the way to 10 years. There are also several videos in the pattern to show you how to do techniques in the pattern.
The sweater is knitted from the top down in the round. 3D pumpkins or ghosts are knitted separately and sewn on after to create the fun seasonal jumper.
Yarn: Casper the Halloween sweater is knit in DK yarn. Paintbox Simply DK yarn has been used in the pattern. This could be substituted for any DK yarn with a gauge of 22 sts and 30 rows = 10cm / 4in.
You will need 1 (1 : 1 : 1 : 1) 2 : 2 : 2 : 2 : 3 balls of Paintbox Simply DK for the jumper.
For the ghosts – 1 x 100g ball Paintbox Yarns Simply DK in Paper White Scrap and black yarn or embroidery thread for the eyes.
For the pumpkins – 2 x 100g balls Paintbox Yarns Simply DK – one in Blood Orange and one in Coffee Bean.
Gauge: 22 sts x 30 rows = 10cm in stockinette stitch on 4mm (US 6) needles
Needles: For the sweater – 4mm / US 6 and 3.75mm / US 5 circular needles 60cm/24in long. For the sleeves – 4mm (US 6) and 3.75mm (US 5) needles – either shorter circular needles or double pointed needles.
You will also need: a tapestry needle, stitch markers and a small amount of stuffing for the pumpkins or ghosts.
